Dharma Haus Benchen Tashi Ling is honored to welcome His Eminence Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche in Cologne.

September 13th, 2014 at 4pm Rinpoche will grant an Abisheka of Amitayus – the Buddha of boundless life.

Amitayus is the Buddha of Long Life. He is the sambhogakaya aspect of Amitabha Buddha, the Buddha of Limitless Light and Life. Amitayus is depicted as cradling a vase that contains the precious nectar of immortality, amrita, which confers longevity and the leaves of the ashoka tree, which symbolize long life without the misery of disease. Sincere practice and devotion to Amitayus are said to help eliminate all obstacles to long life such as sickness, pain, and untimely death. The practice of Amitayus is especially important because longevity gives us more time and opportunity to practice the Dharma so that we can achieve the ultimate goal of liberation and enlightenment for all beings.

September 14th, at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm Rinpoche will bestow Dzogchen teachings on “The Instruction Manual for the Ground of Trekcho: What to Carry, Utilize and Bring Forth on the Path according to The Secret Dakini Practice: The Mother Tantra of Dzogchen”. This is an unique chance to recieve these extraordinary teachings from Tertön himself. This profound teaching elucidating the practice of trekcho, ‘The Thorough Cut’, was originally given by Vajra Yogini to dakini Yeshe Tsogyal in a dream. Later on it was revealed by the female master Kunga Bum (1331-1402) who handed it over to Dungtso Repa, a treasure revealer and great yogi. The transmission for this teaching was lost over the centuries but was then revived in the nineteenth century by the supreme treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa (1829-1870) in a recollection of his former life as Dungtso Repa. This precious pith instruction is one of more than fifty concise instructions found in The Secret Dakini Practice: The Mother Tantra of Dzogchen, which is now contained in the Chokling Tersar (The New Treasures of Chokgyur Lingpa). These teachings are secret and sealed by strong Samaya. Participants are expected to practice these instructions and respect the Samaya between teacher and disciple. Video and audio recordings are prohibited.

From September 15th till 20th Rinpoche will lead a retreat on the Lotus Dakini Kurukulle. Kurukulle is also known as Red Tara and is a magnetizing Buddha aspect. The sessions will be devided into initiation, teachings and practice.

The dakini Kurukullé, also known as the Lotus Dakini, is the dynamic manifestation of Red Tara. Skilled in magnetizing activity, practising her can help us gather the conducive circumstances we need for our progress on the path and to fulfill our noble aspirations to benefit others. In essence, Kurukullé is Buddha Prajnaparamita, the mother of all buddhas. As the embodiment of all-discriminating wisdom, she manifests as Pandaravasini, one of the five female buddhas and consort of Buddha Amitayus. Out of her intense love and compassion for beings, she takes the form of the Noble Lady Tara. In her own form as Kurukullé, she holds a bow, arrow, and shackles, drawing in everything we wish for. If we supplicate and practice her sincerely and with a pure heart, her blessings will enter us as swiftly and powerfully as lightning so that all positive conditions for virtue are effortlessly assembled.

The Kurukullé practice Kyabjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche will be guiding us in belongs to the Profundity of Longevity from the Sevenfold Profundity, one of the blessed cycles of treasure teachings revealed by the supreme treasure revealer, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa. Containing swift blessings and being easy to practice and apply it is ideally suited to the present age.
